Man killed in fiery crash on 10 Freeway in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, CA (November 6, 2025) — A man was killed and another person was injured early Thursday morning in a fiery collision involving a food truck and a passenger vehicle on the eastbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway near the Arlington Avenue exit, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

Officers responded around 2:15 a.m. to the scene just south of Crenshaw Boulevard in the Jefferson Park area. CHP officials said the food truck struck another vehicle, and both caught fire following the impact. The passenger car came to rest underneath the food truck as both vehicles became engulfed in flames.

Fire crews from the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) extinguished the blaze. A man, described as approximately 40 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 32-year-old man from one of the vehicles was transported to a hospital in fair condition.

The crash led to major traffic delays on the eastbound side of the freeway. A SigAlert was issued around 2:45 a.m., closing multiple lanes for several hours. One lane reopened around 6:45 a.m., and all lanes were cleared roughly an hour later.
