Pedestrian killed near Compton on East 139th St
Compton, CA (October 28, 2025) — A pedestrian was fatally struck in an unincorporated area near Compton, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Emergency crews responded, and the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash occurred on Friday, October 24, at approximately 7:23 p.m. near East 139th Street and Avalon Boulevard. According to the CHP, the pedestrian was struck by a white sedan. It was unclear whether the collision was a hit-and-run, authorities said.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner later identified the victim as 68-year-old Georgia Moore of Los Angeles County.
