Pregnant Cyclist Killed in Playa del Rey Accident

PLAYA DEL REY, CA (October 10, 2023) — A pregnant mother was tragically killed after being struck by a vehicle while biking in Playa del Rey.

The incident occurred on a busy street, where the driver of the vehicle collided with the cyclist. Emergency responders arrived swiftly, but the woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The unborn child also did not survive the crash.

The community has expressed profound sorrow, with a GoFundMe campaign established to support the victim’s family during this devastating time. Neighbors have left flowers and notes at the site in memory of the mother and child.

Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident, and the driver is cooperating with law enforcement. No charges have been filed at this time.
