Pomona crash on 60 Freeway leaves one dead, one injured

POMONA, CA (January 26, 2026) — One person was killed and another was injured Monday morning after a vehicle overturned and struck a guardrail on the eastbound Pomona (60) Freeway at Garey Avenue, authorities confirmed.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported at approximately 8:04 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of the 60 Freeway in Pomona. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a single vehicle that had overturned and collided with a guardrail. Emergency responders pronounced the male driver dead at the scene.

Another individual involved in the crash was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Officials have not released details regarding the extent of that person’s injuries, and no identifying information about the victims has been made public.
