Wrongful Termination Settlement
Our client, a Los Angeles employee, was terminated while he had initiated a leave of absence. His employer claimed he had been absent without contacting any of his supervisors – but evidence showed that HR was aware he had initiated the leave at the time he was wrongfully terminated.
The employer’s stated reason for the termination was directly contradicted by their own internal records. Under California employment law, an employer cannot lawfully terminate an employee for taking a protected leave of absence, and a pretextual justification does not shield them from liability.
Feher Law pursued the case in Los Angeles and secured a $400,000 settlement on our client’s behalf. If your employer terminated you while you were on a leave of absence – or used a false reason to justify your firing – contact Feher Law today for a free consultation.
