Pedestrian Killed in Fairfield Semi-Truck Accident (Lead Test)

California Highway Patrol Investigating Fatal Semi-Truck Accident Along Interstate 80 in Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, CALIFORNIA (October 26, 2026) – A pedestrian has tragically died after being hit by a truck and semi-trailer along the Interstate 80 freeway in Fairfield.

California Highway Patrol is saying that the accident occurred in the early morning hours of Sunday. A woman was hit by a large truck for undetermined reasons and critically injured.

When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered that the woman was already deceased. The CHP spent several hours trying to piece together what happened.

They determined that a 2015 Peterbilt truck was traveling in the westbound lanes of traffic when it struck the pedestrian in the far right lane as it was merging.

Neither drugs nor alcohol are suspected factors in the crash.
